Copyright Text: Shows the range of the number of unserved mass market locations lacking access to wireline 25 Mbps downstream and 3 Mbps upstream excluding legacy technology (e.g., Digital Subscriber Line and Cable DOCSIS 2.0 or older) using a GIS technique known as "feature binning." Individual unserved locations are aggregated into hexagonal container bins of more than one unserved location, where one hexagon represents an area approximately 1/10th of a square kilometer. The hex bin approach is designed as equally sized and scalable geometric bins for summary, display, and comprehension of large datasets.
